Virtual Home Staging 2.0

Home staging has evolved yet again, providing a powerful tool for those selling a home and powerful lessons for all business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in today’s fast paced, high-tech environment.

Last year CT Homes covered the evolution and benefits of virtual home staging for those selling houses. Home staging has always had advantages, though has been restrictive and costly in the past. Then virtual staging arrived offering a way for real estate agents and investors to make their homes look great online, attract more potential buyers and increase offers for less and with less hassle.

It only makes sense with 9 out of 10 home buyers turning to the web to start their home searches. HomeStaging.com goes on to state that staged homes can sell twice as fast as vacant ones and that staged homes sell for 6% more than vacant ones. Virtual Staging by Ilia Barion claims that 70% of their virtually staged clients experienced increased traffic and even 42% of previously listed homes sold within 4 months once virtually staged.

However, these services have always still cost home sellers and their agents hundreds of dollars and required a bit of back and forth with photos. Now Decolabs has rolled out a free iPad app that allows individuals to snap images on their mobile devices and virtually stage spaces in seconds on the go.

The critical lesson here for all startups, real estate agents and real estate investors is all about how fast business is changing. Is your model scalable, sustainable, and can it handle rising costs, increased competition and price wars simultaneously?

Do you not just have the best product or service and are offering it at the best price in the market today, but will that still be viable and profitable in 2 years from now, or even 6 months?
