Best San Diego Neighborhoods for Families


Buying a home in San Diego can be fraught with challenges – particularly for families. Most families want to raise their children in a nice neighborhood with low crime rates and good schools. If you’ve been searching for the elusive “perfect neighborhood” in San Diego, your search may end today. If you’re buying a home in San Diego, look into one of these neighborhoods that are perfect for families:

  • Poway. Poway is known as “the city in the country” – for a good reason. Family-friendly parks abound in Poway, and it has a fantastic school system that draws students from all over San Diego. It’s also home to Lake Poway and the Blue Sky Ecological Preserve. The best part? It’s just a short commute from downtown San Diego.
  • Rancho Bernando. This master planned community is home to shopping malls and office parks aplenty.   • University City. Named for its proximity to the University of California, San Diego, University City is home to many families. There are tons of parks and open spaces, including Rose Canyon, which is home to many species of California birds.
