Buying a Home: Best Cities for the Next Decade

1-waiting-to-buyWhere are America’s best cities for buying a home and enjoying the maximum appreciation for the next decade?

They might not be where you think!

Real estate investors and regular home buyers alike all want to be making acquisitions in the U.S. cities that promise the best growth and wealth building opportunities. But what determines that and what cities hold those criteria that suggest they will enjoy the most growth?

Obviously there are many debates and factors to look at. However, finance publication Kiplinger recently took a shot at it and here’s what they came up with…

Experts from the Martin Prosperity Institute, President of the University of Washington contributed to the Kiplinger report that suggests the keys to forecasting the best cities for the next decade are identified by a combination of innovation, smart people, jobs, creative culture, livability and “coolness”. So where are they at?

Kiplinger’s Top 10 Best Cities:

  1. Austin, TX
  2. Seattle, WA
  3. Washington, DC
  4. Boulder, CO
  5. Salt Lake City, UT
  6. Rochester, MN
  7. Des Moines, IA
  8. Burlington, VT
  9. West Hartford, CT
  10. Topeka, KA

Of course there are many other criteria to look at when you consider real estate as an investment by itself from discounts to affordability, international appeal and state of the current local housing market.

However, CT Homes LLC definitely agrees with the vote for Hartford, CT, which is currently going through a growth and revitalization phase; trends that certainly reach out to Connecticut real estate in Bridgeport and New Haven as well.

When it comes to “coolness”, cool houses, innovation and an improving job market and business hub it is also obviously impossible to ignore San Diego, CA. Plus you can’t beat the weather.
