The town’s 36 civic clubs are all very active in preserving Old Saybrook’s historic district as well as organizing community-wide celebrations for every major holiday. Because of the care the citizens of Old Saybrook put into their town, the average house costs about $300,000. This might seem steep for first-time families, but considering the quality of the location, it’s worth thinking about.
